Sometimes, simple tricks can leave your little ones enthralled. Here is one of which I learn some years ago. It has not stopped amazing children whenever I perform it with my camcorder – at kids’ birthday parties or just children get together. It does not call for elaborate preparation and there are very few props required.

Magnetic toothpick.

* Place a few small scraps of paper on a table. Without anyone notocing, quickly rub a toothpick or a pencil a few times on your sleeve. Now move this ‘magnitized’ toothpick/pencil slowly towards the bits of paper. As you do this, blow gently. This will cause the paper bits to move towards the toothpick as though they were trying to follow its path. (Remember, no one must realize that you are blowing.) Anyone else who tries to do this trick won’t be able to ‘magnetize’ the toothpick.
