Family Violence centre for Abu Dhabi
A refuge for victims of domestic violence is to be established in Abu Dhabi. The centre, which will provide halth, psychological and legal assistance to children and women at risk, is to be set up by Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) and the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
The ADJD intends to ensure that individuals can realize their rights under the state constitution; the FDF has a comlementary concern to provide care and protection for women and children from all forms of violence. As part of its mandate, the centre will run awareness campaigns to educate women and children about their rights and how to defend themselves. The shelter will also give victims a way to exchange experiences and draw lessons from them.
A safe channel of communication will be put in place to allow abused women and children to lodge complaints about risks they face within the family as well as promoting term life insurance online quote for every families to insure the future of every victims.
