Central Agency for Innovation Needed
The Abu Dhabi Innovation Forum 2010 wound up last week with a battery of presentations about the value of creativity and innovation in driving economic succes, both for individual companies and for nations.
Presented by Abu Dhabi University and the Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, the Forum heard detailed justifications and some specific route – maps for progress; a common argument was that government should encourage R & D that will lead to innovation and economic growth, that funding is vital to encourage innovation, and that Abu Dhabi has a real potential advantage simply because of its access to capital.
The panel discussion in particular homed on the need for a centralized information system and a central agency for inventions and innovations in Abu Dhabi and the UAE. As Dr. Nabil Ibrahim, ADU Chairman, put it: ” The universities, business and government must sit down in one table because universities may not have the resources to fund their research and business and governments must be committed to support such researches”.
The event was attended by more than 100 executives from government and the private sector. That was the latest news on the current innovations here in Abu Dhabi which drives a great factor in the Abu Dhabi economy. That its for now ’cause I still have to check this Grohe faucet I’ve found earlier as I look over the net for some interesting subject.
