Travel Tips in Dealing with other Travellers…
There’s just about nothing worse than setting in for a sixteen hour flight only to discover you’ve been seated in a row next to a family with small children who are all running wild, or when the person behind you insists on kicking your seat every five minutes. What can you do?
* Most parents are sincerely doing the very best they can to keep their children comfortable and quite during those long flight, but there are some situations parents can do very little to avoid or correct. In most cases, patience is the best policy – bring an iPod or tune into the in-flight entertainment for some welcome distraction.
* If you really can’t stand to be around the little ones avoid sitting near bulhead seats where the infants will most likely be seated in the bassinets. If you plan ahead, you shouldbe able to book your seat ahead of them.
* There may be cases in which other travellers are truly remiss, in which case it is your right to take action. There’s nothing wrong with giving a child – or fellow adult – a stern look or asking them (politely) to stop doing whatever it is they’re doing to annoy you. If that doesn’t work, ask the flight crew.
